AC Milan's 24-man squad travelled to Australia in June 1993, which included 12 Italian and six foreign internationals valued at over $240 million. It was the Milan giant's second tour of Australia and the first visit by a top Italian club since Juventus in 1984.
The two matches played (Sydney and Melbourne), were seen as preparation for the Socceroos' 1994 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Canada (and eventually Diego Maradona's Argentina). Coach Eddie Thomson fielded Australia's best in the likes of Mark Bosnich, Ned Zelic, Paul Wade, Robbie Slater and Frank Farina.
