Tony Palumbo worked as the Special Broadcasting Service's Italian producer between 1976 and 2010. Palumbo's work for the public broadcaster often saw him cover European football as a guest on SBS World Soccer, On the Ball, The World Game and every show before and after, where a serious analyst with a deep knowledge of the game was required.
He is somewhat of a legend to viewers who grew up with SBS and its multicultural programming. Palumbo always called it straight with his Italian accent, emphasising every word. Often cynical, he became known for highlighting Australian soccer's shortcomings - and there were many - often ending his rants with, "It's a disgrace!"
Palumbo is a fine vintage and his generation will forever be the doyens of the game in Australia. This tongue-in-cheek design is a tweet to the governing body after the Annual General Meeting and public announcement of a new board.
