"Hakoah! Hakoah! Hakoah!"

One of the success teams of the New South Wales Federation, Hakoah (Eastern Suburbs) was backed by Jewish migrants. None more so than Frank Lowy. Located in Sydney's world-famous Bondi, the club built a modern licensed club to foster the round ball code.

Among its best-known internationals were Alan Marnock, Ray Baartz and John Watkiss. Hakoah played its football at Wentworth Park in Glebe. The traditional sky blue shirts, white shorts and blue and white socks fit in seamlessly with the colours of the State.

Hakoah won the Australia Cup in 1965 and 1968, the Federation Cup in 1959, 1961, 1963, 1965 and again in 1971. The club was Federation Champions in 1961, 1962, 1966 and 1968. Premiers in 1968, 1971 and 1973. Ampol Cup (South) winners in 1957, 1968 and 1973. Craven A Cup winners in 1959 and 1961, and Second Division Premiers in 1956.

The club went on to secure even more titles in the seventies and eighties. However, it was the launch of the first national football (all codes) competition in the (Philips) National Soccer League that made Hakoah (Sydney City) even more prominent. Hakoah enjoyed a run of championships that any club owner would revel in.

This design specifically marks the pre-NSL era, highlighting the great Hakoah of Sydney, NSW.
