During the 2018 FIFA World Cup held in Russia, Australian football journalist Lucy Zelic, came under scrutiny for the way in which she was pronouncing the names of players, coaches, stadia, landmarks - you name it! The Australian audience for the most part enjoyed Zelic's daily broadcasts but some showed just how unprepared they were for the 31-year-old's verbiage.

It came to a boiling point and was addressed on-air during the tournament by Zelic's SBS co-host, Craig Foster. He said, "Les [Murray] was always very specific about his pronunciations. If you cannot get someone's name right, it says you have no regard, you have not tried."

Foster directed her professionalism back to how Murray had established a culture of linguistic respect at SBS, specifically when using the names of players, clubs and cities. Zelic was simply paying homage to her mentor and equal respect to the game and its people.

This design pokes fun at the ridiculousness of the event, indicating Zelic has a mouth full of Balkan-Australian footballers (being Croatian herself), which she is holding back from those with sensitive ears.
