Soccer Action T-shirt

Soccer Action was a Fairfax publication launched in February 1976.

The brainchild of long-serving editor and The Age soccer writer, Laurie Schwab, the national weekly tabloid carried news, features, columns covering the game both here and abroad, match reports, junior and senior results and tables, a foreign language section and a hat-trick heroes listing for juniors who also received a certificate.

Peter Sweeney was the first assistant editor, followed by Kyle Patterson then Craig MacKenzie who became its only other editor in 1986.

The final issue of Soccer Action was published in April 1987.

This design will bring back fond memories for Australian soccer fans following the game during the late seventies and eighties.
