Up Like a Spawning Salmon T-shirt
Andy Harper coined the phrase, "Up like a spawning salmon" to describe a player rising gracefully for a header.
A former National Soccer League striker, Harper has been involved in many of Australian football's great yarns. His thesauratic lexicon has left even the most advanced in the English language puzzled during commentary.
To his credit, he loves the game. He has helped Australian football heroes such as Johnny Warren and Ange Postecoglou pen their books. He was Sydney FC's first chief executive. In his playing days, Harper was heavily involved in the players' union. Perhaps, his vocabulary matches the breadth and depth of his football experience.
